The impressive Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus concept one smartphone with disappearing cameras is officially presented , but it won’t be released yet.
At a press event at CES, which takes place from January 7 to 10 in Las Vegas, OnePlus presented the concept called ”OnePlus Concept One ”.
For the first time the company began to mention it in December, but the details were revealed only now. It was assumed that the smartphone was one of the first to receive a front camera hidden under the screen. However, things were not quite so.
The hidden camera OnePlus concept one has, but it’s not front-facing, but rear. The main camera modules can become opaque to hide the cameras on the back of the phone.
The idea is that electrochromic glass above the camera is a switchable glass that changes from transparent to translucent and vice versa. This technology is used in sports cars and aircraft construction to choose how much light you want to block . The transition process takes 0.7 seconds. At certain angles, the camera can be seen even in “hidden” mode. Separately, it is worth noting a special mode for shooting in conditions of too bright lighting – the glass is slightly darkened.
As you can see on the image above, the overall design of the smartphone is made in the style of McLaren, the logo of this racing brand is visible on the body, the back panel is finished with skin.
Mission accomplished, I guess, the company gave so much importance to the appearance of the smartphone with this cool concept – it is not going to sell it, at least for now. OnePlus said that this is a conceptual smartphone in its pure form and the device still needs supplementary tests to ensure its strength and reliability.
