Microsoft still continues official support for the Windows 7 operating system on January 14. However, users weren’t completely ready to say goodbye to the historical platform.
The FSF(Free Software Foundation ) decided to support the public in order to sign a petition calling for Microsoft to give Windows 7 a second life. So it’s proposed to release the OS in the form of free open source software, and allow the FSF’s community to study and improve it for this purpose.
Everyone can sign a petition with such basic requirements to the Microsoft management :
- We require Windows 7 to be released as free software. Her life mustn’t stop. Let the community learn, change, and distribute it.
- We encourage freedom and privacy for users, not just forcing them to switch to new versions of Windows.
- We want additional evidence that you really respect the users themselves and the freedom of users, rather than simply using these concepts for marketing when it is convenient for you.
