According to the Google Blog, the name Tangi is inspired by the words : teach and give, and “tangible” things are simply things you can touch or feel.
Google has decided to launch a new service, that will be designed only for this kind of content. Tangi is an experimental application created under Google’s lab Area 120, which contains short video guides and instructions.
Videos on the new platform have a limit of 60 seconds, and are divided into categories “Art”, “Cooking”, “do yourself”, “Fashion and Beauty” and “Style of life”. There is no “Technology” section yet, so for example, to find instructions on the firmware of your smartphone, it’s still necessary to refer to YouTube.
For the time being, the mobile application is only available for iOS devices. Google is famous for launching many apps and services that are closed after a while.
This app isn’t only aiming to beat competitive apps like TikTok; but also to make a huge community. And maybe this time is going to grow with Google’s Invites tools.
