Tomorrow, February 11, Samsung will hold the annual Galaxy Unpacked event, in which Samsung Galaxy S20 will be revealed. For several months, dozens of rumors have been leaked. Here, we bring you everything we know so far about the new Samsung model.
Models of Samsung Galaxy S20 :
The event called Samsung Galaxy Unpacked will be accompanied by the premiere of three new flagship models: The release of Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy S20 Ultra is expected. In addition to the diagonal of the display, the main camera’s capabilities will be the key differences between the devices.
The cost of the devices will also be affected by the support of 5th generation 5G networks. Samsung is expected to present both 4G and 5G versions.
Design:
Samsung continues to adhere to the canons of frame-less design, striving to ensure that the display occupies as much space as possible on the front panel. Judging by rumors, the front side of all three models will be the same: Thin frames around the perimeter of the case with a slight increase in the lower and upper parts, as well as a selfie camera cut into the display.
The main difference will be noticeable on the back panel: In the model line of 2020, the camera block will be much wider than its predecessors. And in the case of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, the camera module can occupy more than half the width of the chassis.
Display:
The screen size is one of the key features that distinguish all three models from each other. The Galaxy S20 will receive a 6.2-inch AMOLED panel, S20 Plus 6.7-inch, and Galaxy S20 Ultra 6.9-inch. The resolution will be the same – 3200×1440 pixels. Samsung is also planning to equip the new flagship line with 120 Hz display support.
Size:
Insiders managed to get detailed specifications of the devices long before the announcement. The most compact smartphone in the line will be the Galaxy S20: Its body dimensions will be 152 x 68 x 7.9 millimeters at a weight of 164 grams. The Galaxy S20 will be slightly larger – 162 x 74 x 7.8 millimeters at a weight of 188 grams. However, the Galaxy S20 Ultra with a 6.9-inch display turned out to be a rather heavy gadget: In addition to a mass of 221 grams, it is 1 millimeter thicker than the Galaxy S20 Plus, and the dimensions are 167 x 76 x 8.8 millimeters.
Battery :
As the diagonal of the display increases, Samsung has to install a larger battery. According to insiders, the most compact battery will be in the Galaxy S20 – its capacity will be 4000 mAh. The Galaxy S20 Plus will receive a battery of 4500 mAh, and the top Galaxy S20 Ultra will receive a battery of 5000 mAh.
Camera:
The main camera features are another hardware feature that will differ significantly in the models. The basic Galaxy S20 will have three main sensors: 12 MP with wide-angle lens, 64-MP telephoto lens and 12-MP with ultra-wide width. Expected to support 30x digital zoom, 3x optical zoom and 8K video recording at 30fps. The Galaxy S20 Plus will have the same set of sensors installed, but a TOF sensor will be added.
The camera was given special attention. First, the maximum resolution of the sensor on this smartphone is 108 MP. Secondly, the gadget will be equipped with a 48-megapixel periscopic module, which will allow you to receive photos with 10x optical and 100x digital zoom. It will have a Galaxy S20 Ultra and a 12-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens, as well as a TOF sensor.
