After numerous leaks, Intel introduced the tenth generation of Comet Lake-S desktop processors. They use up to 10 computational cores and are capable of operating at a frequency of up to 5.3 Ghz. But the novelties are still built using the old 14 nm process.

The flagship of the new line was the Core i9-10900K with 10 cores, 20 streams, frequency up to 5.3 Ghz in the Thermal Velocity Boost and TDP 125 W mode. Intel claims that it is 10% more powerful than its predecessor, Core i9-9900K (8 cores, 16 threads, 5 Ghz) in PUBG and 63% faster than the three-year-old Core i7-7700K. The company claims it’s the fastest game processor in the world to date. Of course it comes with a unlocked multiplier.

In addition to the flagship Core i9-10900, the unlocked multiplier received two models: the eight-core i7 10700K and the six-core i5-10600K. All new tenth-generation chips support memory up to DDR4-2933, 2.5-gigabit Ethernet, have built-in Wi-Fi 6, and are equipped with integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 (except the F series).

Intel also announced a redesigned utility called Extreme Tuning Utility, which provides more control over CPU voltage and frequency. For example, it can be used to disable hyperflow on individual kernels, thereby significantly reducing heating during acceleration.

The date for the launch of the new processors has not yet been announced.
