When you’re in a place with a Wi-Fi connection, your phone automatically connects to it even if you didn’t use your phone. But often forgetting this type of active connection when the device is not in use can cause the battery to run out quickly.

By default, Android doesn’t have an effective mechanism to disable Wi-Fi automatically, this type of connection is active even though it’s not connected to any network, which means meaningless waste of your phone’s battery. Here’s how to turn off Android Wi-Fi Automatically in some situations.

As mentioned above, a task of turning off Wi-Fi automatically does not come by default in the system. For this you will need a free application available on Google Play called “Better Wifi On / Off.” You must download it to your phone.

When opening the program for the first time, click “Deny” and then click the icon indicated in the image below to access your options;

Scroll down the options menu and enable Expert Mode.

At this point, you will return to the main application screen. So, touch the icon again to enter the program’s “Options” and check the “Stop when screen off” option.

Ready! At this time, every time your phone is locked or the screen turns off, Wi-Fi will be disabled, saving some device battery.

Finally, you can also leave the “Start to boot” option selected, which causes the application to launch with the system so that it does not have to be configured manually every time the phone is powered up.
