Bing Launches Wordpress Plugin To Send Urls To Your Search Engine
Microsoft has launched a WordPress extension that will help webmasters to send their website addresses to the Bing search engine.
It is an open source plugin that allows webmasters of WordPress sites to get their content easily, automatically and immediately indexed by Bing as soon as their content is published.
From 2019, website owners can send up to 10,000 URLs per day, and more if requested, through the Bing Webmaster Tools portal, as well as through the Bing Webmaster Tools API for instant tracking and indexing. It is now possible to do it more easily with the Bing Webmaster Tools plugin. Once installed and configured with an API obtained from the Bing Webmaster portal, the plugin detects page updates and new pages created in WordPress and automatically sends URLs to the search engine.
Some other useful functions included in the plugin:
- – The ability to enable and disable the automatic shipping function.
- – Manually send a URL to Bing Index.
- – View the list of recent URL submissions from the plugin.
- – Retry any failed shipments from the list of recent shipments.
- – Download recent URLs for analysis.
To obtain the API key, simply click on the link on the plugin’s internal page, being necessary to access the Bing Webmaster portal to collect the generated code.
Although Bing is not a widely used search engine compared to Google, it is the default search engine for millions of people around the world, so it is worth paying attention.
