The novelties continue in Google Meet, designed to eat Zoom so that it can become the most used video conferencing app in the world.

Starting October 8, they will release two highly sought-after features on Google Meet to help connect and interact with people in video calls: questions and answers and surveys.

It will be available to G Suite Essentials, G Suite Business, G Suite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for Education customers, but not to G Suite Basic, G Suite for Education and G Suite for Nonprofits customers.

The idea is for participants to ask questions without interrupting the flow of the meeting. We can use surveys to quickly capture participants’ comments on a call, so they can give their opinions while listening to the teacher, for example, or to identify topics that need more discussion.

The Q&A part of Meet offers an easy way to better engage the public and help them get answers to their questions, both at work and at school. Educators can use Q&A as a structured way for students to ask questions about class content and get answers from teachers. Businesses can use Q&A to help make meetings more inclusive, giving everyone the opportunity to ask questions. In the education sector, teachers can ask questions to remote students to make sure they are absorbing the material.

Both hosts and meeting moderators can easily activate the sending of questions.

In surveys, moderators can set up multiple questions, visible only to them, and launch the survey when appropriate during the call.

Once a survey is closed, the meeting hosts will receive a report with the results count to make it easier to re-consult and take action.

Unfortunately it will not be for everyone, but who knows, it will still expand its visibility over time.
