Augmented Reality allows us to insert virtual elements into real environments, but now ClipDrop arrives to allow just the opposite: insert real objects into the digital world, although the interesting thing is that it allows it practically effortlessly.

The idea, basically, is that users can capture any kind of real-world element, whether it’s a piece of furniture, a plant, a person, whatever, so that they can convert that capture into an image, with the background cut out automatically, to be able to use it in a variety of compatible applications, even on desktop.

In this regard, ClipDrop has an add-on for Adobe Photoshop, released during the recent celebration of Adobe Max, with which you get the objects cut from the mobile, taking them to the documents that are kept open as layers with editable masks.

Without a doubt, the concept sounds quite interesting, and it will obviously save time for those who, for example, have to catalogue products for sale. However, we must bear in mind that this is an application that is in its beta stage and that, to unlock all its possibilities and use it without any limitation, you have to go through the checkout to obtain a subscription, which currently is 39,99 dollars per year, although it will rise from November 20 to cost 79.99 dollars per year.

However, in addition to trimming objects from the real world, this application is also capable of extracting texts from books or any other medium, a functionality that users can use even for free, being able to take the extracted texts to the documents in different compatible applications.

Keep in mind that, being a beta app, available for Android and iOS, it is possible that the cutouts may not become completely perfect, although according to the demo video, the cutouts of objects make them to perfection.

According to Ciryl Diagne:

And in addition to being present as a mobile app for Android and iOS, it is also present as a desktop app for Windows and Mac to do the same, crop objects and extract texts, from other applications as well as from the web pages you are browsing.

No doubt it is an application that is giving to speak today Friday, when it has just come out publicly after months of development, being available, as we have mentioned before, in beta phase.
